About This Project
Dragonborn Names is a free, ad-free fan project built for D&D 5e, Baldur's Gate 3, and Skyrim players. The name database currently holds over 1,000 curated entries, each with a meaning, pronunciation guide, gender tag, colour lineage, and style classification.
The project is maintained by a small team of tabletop RPG enthusiasts. We are not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast, Larian Studios, or Bethesda Softworks.
All name suggestions are reviewed before being added. We prioritise names that fit authentic draconic phonetic patterns — hard consonants, strong syllables, and meaningful roots. If your suggestion doesn't make it into the database, it may still inspire a generated variant.
Common Questions
How long does it take to get a response?
We aim to respond to all messages within a few days. Bug reports are prioritised — if something is broken, we want to know immediately.
Can I request a page for a specific topic?
Yes. If you'd like to see a page for a specific dragonborn colour, game, style, or topic not currently covered, let us know. We track all requests and build the most-requested pages first.
Can I contribute names directly?
Not yet — but we plan to open a community name submission process. For now, send your suggestions via the contact form and we'll review them manually.
Is the generator ever wrong?
Generated names are algorithmically created and may occasionally produce unusual combinations. Curated names (marked "Canon" or "Curated") are hand-reviewed. If you spot an error in a curated name's meaning or pronunciation, please report it.
