Dragonborn Names ("we", "the site", "the project") is a free static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and what rights you have as a visitor.

What We Collect

We do not collect personal information. There are no user accounts, no email sign-ups, and no contact forms that store data on our servers.

The generator, filters, seed values, and name lists all run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type or generate is sent to us.

Your Saved Names & Preferences

When you save names or change the theme, those preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage — a local storage mechanism that never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data will remove these saved values. We have no access to them.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — how many visitors a page receives, which countries they come from, and which pages are most popular. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-first: it does not use cookies, does not track individuals across sessions, and does not fingerprint browsers. No personal data is collected or shared.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other behavioural tracking tools.

Third-Party Services

The following third-party services are used on this site:

  • Cloudflare Pages — hosting. Cloudflare may log standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, page visited) for security and performance purposes. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — typography. Loading fonts from Google's CDN results in a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address. We are evaluating self-hosting fonts to remove this dependency entirely.

No other third-party scripts, ad networks, affiliate trackers, or social media embeds are present on this site.

Cookies

We do not use cookies. Theme preferences (light/dark mode) are stored in localStorage only, which is not a cookie and is not transmitted with HTTP requests.

Children's Privacy

This site is a general-audience fantasy naming tool. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Data Retention

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing stored on our servers to retain or delete. Any data held by third-party services (Cloudflare analytics) is governed by their own retention policies.

Your Rights

Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data held about you. Since we do not hold personal data, there is nothing to action — but if you have concerns, please get in touch and we will clarify what, if anything, third-party services may hold.

Pages on this site may link to external websites (D&D wikis, game pages, rulebooks). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We will not retroactively change how we handle data collected under a previous version of this policy.
